In light of the coming holy month of ramadhan, I will be fasting a month.
In this month and a half of summer, I gained a lot of muscle. I would really hate to lose all the weight I gained while fasting. Can anyone advise me on how to prevent weight loss?
The first thing that comes to mind is to exercise after eating; would that be effective?
Thanks!
I think I made a mistake in explaining my question. Let me rephrase:
How can I prevent muscle loss?
The reason for ramadhan is that it is a month that is meant to allow an individual to practice patience, and spirituality. Furthermore, it is physically healthy:

"We report that when C57BL/6 mice are maintained on an intermittent fasting (alternate-day fasting) dietary-restriction regimen their overall food intake is not decreased and their body weight is maintained. Nevertheless, intermittent fasting resulted in beneficial effects that met or exceeded those of caloric restriction including reduced serum glucose and insulin levels and increased resistance of neurons in the brain to excitotoxic stress."

It’s not much weight loss. I’m a muslim. Since you eat before sunrise and eat after sunset. Then you are not missing out on much. Unless you don’t eat enough when you are suppose to. Most people don’t loss weight during Ramadan. I guess you can exercise after eating, but I would recommend it being after sunset so you can drink when you are thirsty.
Do you mind if I ask why you fast? I’m too lazy to look it up myself and I’ve always wondered so heres my chance to find out!
thanks.

In the religion of Islam, fasting in the month of Ramadhan is a holy tradition much like the 40 days jesus walked through the desert is to christians. To answer your question sir, i believe during fasting you are allowed one meal, correct? Make sure this meal is high in protein and carbohydrates and probably calories if you want to retain the weight. Also doing push-ups and weight lifting would help you spare a few pounds as well.
