One thing that most adults will get sometime in their life is a case of hemorrhoids. These can be the most inconvenient, embarrassing, and uncomfortable ailments to get today. And because most people aren’t too comfortable talking about this, it can be hard to get some decent information on the subject.
What are hemorrhoids? Basically they are when the capillaries, or the small blood vessels that are in and around the rectal area burst, for whatever reason. This can cause itching, swelling, and sometimes even bleeding.
Most people head straight to the doctor, and doctors are trained to prescribe medication and surgery for almost everything. In a large number of cases, this works fairly well. Unfortunately, for hemorrhoids, this is only a temporary fix, as it is only treating the symptom and not the underlying cause.
In order to treat the underlying cause, and banish hemorrhoids for good, it helps to understand some of the causes. Once you understand the reasons behind your hemorrhoids, you will be able to fix them so they go away, and don’t come back.
If you take a look at most of the food people eat today, you’ll find that it is comprised mostly of processed food. This means that you are not eating nearly enough fiber as your body requires. This can cause excessive straining during bowel movements, which will cause the hemorrhoids.
You can get fiber from a variety of sources. Nuts, beans, grains. Even if you don’t like these foods, there are plenty of supplements that can help out here. Once you realize how easy it is to add some fiber to your diet, there is no reason to suffer from hemorrhoids ever again.
