Why is it that when I start an exercise and weight loss program I put weight on?

by admin on January 25, 2010

Even though my body is shaping up, my weight stays the same and the reason for the weight loss is to bring my blood pressure down and get off the pills. That is even after 6 weeks of being on the program.

I agree with the others. Many people find that after they start exercising they get on the scales and they have put on weight.

You need to ignore the scales, throw them out. Begin to measure your body fat, or simply look in the mirror and ask yourself if your body is looking better. If your working out and eating healthy I am sure it will be.

Are you eating bigger meals?

Weight loss is all about tracking calorie consumption and making sure you consume less calories than are required for your age, sex, height, activity level and desired weight. You can exercise all you want, but if you consume too many calories, then you’ll gain weight. Check out the Pen and Paper Diet.

well when you exercise you gain musle and it is true that musle weighs more than fat maybe thats it

you put on weight because your gaining muscle. muscle weighs more than fat. also your weight changes throught out the day. so that could also explain it.

you should try measuring yourself. you may get more accurate results.

GOOD LUCK!!! :]]

Are you drinking lots & lots of water & NOT< NOT< NOT using salt? Be careful what you wish for… I’ve tried a few times to get off the many blood pressure pills I have to take. The thing is that with high blood pressure there are sooooo many variables & the meds each do something different. It’s more of a blood pressure cocktail, than just "the pills." Anyway, walking is how I lower blood pressure & "shape up." The weight gets harder & harder to take off the older I get. I can’t get off the pills, though, no matter what I do.

I tried a weight loss program called Warp Speed Weight Loss, which worked for me. It’s online at http://www.weightzapppa.com (3p’s).

I tried it a year ago and lost about 15 pounds in time for my wedding. I’ve managed to keep the weight off ever since

Focus on body fat percentage, rather than your weight. If you are working out you would be gaining some muscle which weighs more than fat. Over time as you burn fat you will drop kgs. Just keep at it. If i were you i would look at joining an online weight loss program like http://www.alfitness.com.au. This will help you lose weight and keep it off.

The best exercise is brisk walking in open fresh air. If you can’t go outside then use treadmill. These exercise might be somewhat boring to you but you can make your workout a fun. How?
